Provincial Nominee Program Canada
Provincial nomination (PNP)
Every province or territory in Canada has its own various Immigration Programs through which they nominate the people that are interested in settling in that particular province or territory. If the person has received the nomination from the province or territory under the Express Entry PNP stream, it gives them an extra 600 CRS points, therefore almost guaranteeing the invitation in the next Express Entry rounds of invitation. The person can either apply directly to the province if possible or will have to wait until the province or territory send them an ITA from the Express Entry pool to apply for provincial nomination.
If the person has been nominated by the province or territory under the non-Express Entry PNP stream, then the person didn’t get any extra CRS points and have to apply for a paper-based PR application after receiving the nomination from the province or territory.
