Did you know that it’s possible to immigrate to Canada with an online application? Most people imagine the immigration process to be extremely long-winded and require a lot of meetings with officials. However, Canada simplifies this process by making it entirely online.
The easiest way to immigrate to Canada these days is to apply over the internet with the Express Entry program. While this sounds like a premium option to speed up the process, it’s actually the name given to their online application process. So in this post, we’ll be covering what the Express Entry immigration option is and how you can use it.
Things to consider before immigrating to Canada
As you can expect, it’s a good idea to really consider your options before you decide to immigrate to somewhere like Canada. While using the Express Entry option is certainly a lot faster and simpler when compared to most immigration programs, it’s still a long process with many steps. It’ll also take a financial and emotional toll because of the potential stress involved in the process.
So, before you decide to move to Canada, make sure you’re well-prepared. Do plenty of research, ensure you have a place to stay and work and consider the financial investment involved in the process.
Express Entry is the fastest immigration program that Canada offers. Candidates can receive permanent residence status in as little as six months when they apply correctly. The entire process is on the internet and requires you to submit an online profile. This is then rated by Canada’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which scores you based on a number of factors like age, work experience, highest education level, language exam score, any ties to Canada such as study, siblings, etc. The higher your score, the more likely you can receive an ITA (invitation to apply for Permanent Residency) in a short amount of time. This is arguably the easiest way to immigrate to Canada but there are a couple of considerations to keep in mind.
Applying for Express Entry
In order to apply for Express Entry, you’ll need to complete several steps in a two-part process. The first is to submit your documents which should include language test results, an educational credential assessment report, and a passport or travel document. Once this profile has been submitted, you will receive an invitation to apply for a Canadian permanent residence permit if your CRS score is higher than the cut-off for the express entry draw. You’ll have to provide work references and identity documents in the future, such as police clearance certificates and results of medical examinations when submitting an application for Permanent Residency.
Eligibility for Express Entry
In general, you’ll need to be a skilled worker in order to apply for Express Entry. This means you need to have at least one year of work experience in a skilled occupation and be able to demonstrate your English or French ability in the Canadian Language Benchmark. You’ll also have needed to complete post-secondary education that will be assessed against the Canadian standards with an Education Credential Assessment.
However, meeting these three requirements won’t guarantee that you will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada. However, those with stronger profiles will likely be accepted over candidates that only meet the minimum requirements.
Invitation to apply
The Invitation to Apply (ITA) is also known as the electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR). This is considered the final step of the Express Entry program and essentially means that you are close to receiving your permanent residence.
The ITA is only awarded to people that have successfully completed an Express Entry profile and have been selected from a pool of potential candidates. If the candidate successfully completes their ITA and is accepted, then their dependent family members will also be granted Canadian permanent residence.
